Bernie Yantz as Bill
Bernard started playing guitar at 10 years old. After a few years of on and off lessons and garage bands, Bernard acquired a taste for the bass guitar. So much so, he started playing bass full time and continued playing in many different garage bands. At age 15 he branched out and started playing the stand-up bass. Bernard studied stand-up bass for 3 years under Federico Sylvia, principal bassist for The San Diego Symphony, in the early 70’s. Bernard played stand-up bass in his high school orchestra and was a back up bassist for The San Diego Youth Symphony in the mid 70’s. At the same time, Bernard belonged to a successful teenage rock band who went on to win countless awards in many competitions throughout Southern California. In the late 80’s when tribute bands were nearly unheard of, Bernard played bass with one of the first Elvis tributes in Las Vegas, Bobby King. He has also played with Elvis Presley’s music director and head trombonist, Marty Harrell. On stage with the Ultimate Stones, Bernie transforms into Bill Wyman with a musical integrity that is unparalleled except for Mr. Wyman himself.
